Bambu Lab Gift Guide 2026: Printers, Upgrades and Small Gifts by Budget
Gift ideas around Bambu Lab printers for the 2026 holidays, sorted by who you are buying for. Every pick comes with its reason from our own guides and spec data, and a link to the page that explains it.
Short version
For someone new to 3D printing, the A1 mini ($199) is the cheapest Bambu, and the A1 ($259) gives them the full 256 mm cube build volume. For ABS and ASA, the enclosed P1S ($349) is the cheapest way in. For someone who already prints on a Bambu, give something that fits the printer they own: an AMS for multicolor, a filament dryer, a spare build plate in the right size, or filament their printer and AMS can take. The small gifts are the three tools our tools roundup puts on day one: flush cutters, a plastic-blade scraper and fine tweezers.
Bambu's US store currently sells nine of its current printers below their typical price, and its Black Friday page gives December 1, 2:00 AM ET, as the end of the sale. Prices below are Bambu US store prices from our check on November 3, 2026.

Before you buy: sale dates and delivery
Bambu's Black Friday sale in the US store runs from October 27, 8:00 AM ET, to December 1, 2:00 AM ET, according to Bambu's sale page, and our check of the store on October 27 found the Black Friday prices live. Every price in this guide comes from our latest check of Bambu's US store: the current store price first, Bambu's typical price struck through where the store shows one. Whether a sale price is a real low for the year is a separate question; our Black Friday article compares each one with the lowest price in our daily log of the US store.
Two details matter more for a gift than for a printer you buy for yourself. Bambu's sale terms describe a 30-day price protection for products marked with it: if the store price drops within 30 days of your order, you can file a claim. And after the 2024 sale, Bambu apologized in its forum for late deliveries, writing that the response had "exceeded expectations". If the box has to be under the tree on a certain day, order early.
Gift check: which printer do they own?
Accessories are not universal. The 257 × 257 mm build plates in this guide fit only the 256 mm printers (A1, P1P, P1S, P2S, X1C, X1E, X2D), not the A1 mini, A2L or the H series. The AMS lite fits only the A1 mini, A1 and A2L. Bambu rules out the AMS for 95A TPU, and ASA belongs in an enclosed printer. If you cannot ask, tools, a dryer or PLA are the safe picks.
The budget ladder
Every printer Bambu currently sells in its US store, cheapest first. Up to the X2D the steps are small, and each one changes one main thing: bed size, enclosure, platform generation or active chamber heating. Above the X2D the H series starts, and the steps get expensive: $460 from the X2D to the H2S alone. Our price ladder lists what every step adds.
| Printer | Bambu US store price |
|---|---|
| A1 mini | $199 |
| A1 | $259 |
| P1S | $349 |
| A2L | $439 |
| P2S | $449 |
| X2D | $589 |
| H2S | $1,049 |
| H2D | $1,399 |
| H2C | $1,899 |
A first printer
For someone who has never printed, the A1 mini and the A1 are the low-risk start: open bed-slingersThe print bed itself moves back and forth on one axis, instead of only the print head moving above a bed that just lowers. for PLA and PETG. Bambu rates ABS, ASA, PC, PA and fiber-filled filament as not recommended on the open A1, so neither is the gift for someone who wants to print those. For multicolor, the Combo versions add an AMS lite with four slots: the A1 mini Combo at $299 (typical price $329), the A1 Combo at $359 (typical price $399) in Bambu's US store.

A1 miniFirst printer
$199 (typical price $219) in Bambu's US store. A 180 mm cube build volume and a bed that reaches 80°C: our A1 vs A1 mini comparison recommends it only if small prints are enough. On Amazon it comes as a bundle with an LED lamp kit.

A1Best first printer
$259 (typical price $299), $60 more than the A1 mini for the full 256 mm cube, 188% more volume, and a 100°C bed. The pick of our buying guide for most people. The Amazon link is the printer alone; the A1 Combo on Amazon comes with an LED lamp kit.

An enclosed printer for ABS and ASA
If the person on your list wants to print parts for a car, outdoor use or anything that gets warm, the material is usually ABS or ASA, and that calls for an enclosure. Bambu has two enclosed printers below the X2D. Both run an activated carbon filter only, which binds odor but captures no ultrafine particles (for the P2S, Bambu still lists particulate filtration as supported); ventilation still matters.

P1SCheapest enclosed
$349 (typical price $399). CoreXY in a closed case with a carbon filter, which makes ABS and ASA practical; the chamber only warms passively. With an AMS: P1S AMS Combo $479.

P2SNewer platform
$449 (typical price $549), $100 more than the P1S. Our P1S vs P2S comparison calls it better in every spec that differs: a 110°C bed, a passive chamber Bambu rates for about 50°C, AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT support. P2S Combo $649.

A bigger gift
Two printers stand out above the P series, for different reasons. The X2D keeps the 256 mm format and adds what the P2S lacks; the A2L trades the enclosure for a much bigger bed.

X2DActive chamber
$589 (typical price $649). Active chamber heating to 65°C, an auxiliary second nozzle, H12 HEPA filtration and 1,000 mm/s. Our P2S vs X2D comparison picks it for most buyers of the two, for $140 more. X2D AMS Combo $789.

A2LBig parts
$439 (typical price $469). The largest A-series build volume, 330 × 320 × 325 mm, but open again: Bambu lists PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA as its suitable materials, so it is for big parts in those, not for ABS. A2L Combo $519.

The H series
Above the X2D, each step of the H series buys a capability that only pays off if it gets used regularly: $460 more for the H2S (a 350°C hotend and the largest build volume), $350 more for the H2D (a second full hotend and support for the 40W laser module), $500 more for the H2C (the Vortek hotend changer, sold only as an AMS Combo). Above that sits the new H3C, a tool changer with nine tools at $2,499, sold only with its AMS 3H and orderable since November 3 (our H3C article).
For someone who already owns a Bambu
Upgrades are where gifts go wrong, because they depend on the printer. Each pick says what it needs.

AMS liteMulticolor
$159, typical price $199 in Bambu's US store. Four spools for multicolor printing on the A1 mini, A1 and A2L, and only on those; on the A1 and A1 mini it cannot be combined with other AMS units, and it has no humidity control (AMS versions compared). The upgrade for an A1 or A1 mini bought without the Combo.

AMS 2 ProMulticolor and drying
$229, typical price $299 in Bambu's US store, the same price for every printer. Four spools with built-in drying up to 65°C, which Bambu reaches only in a room at 25°C or warmer (filament storage guide). It works across the current lineup; the A1 and A1 mini need the A Series AMS Hub, sold separately, and X1/P1 printers bought without an AMS also need Bambu's Upgrade Compatibility Kit (AMS versions compared).

SUNLU FilaDryer S2We use it
Dries one spool and feeds it to the printer while it dries. SUNLU rates it for at most 70°C: enough for PLA and PETG, just barely for TPU, below the 75–85°C Bambu gives for ABS, ASA, PC and nylon (S2 vs S4). Less useful if they have an AMS 2 Pro (dries up to 65°C) or an AMS HT (up to 85°C), which dry filament themselves (dryer guide).

BIQU PyroGrip Smooth + Textured PEI PlateWe use it
One plate, two surfaces: smooth PEI on one side, textured PEI on the other, as a spare to swap in. 257 × 257 mm: fits only the 256 mm printers, not the A1 mini, A2L or H series; on the P2S, BIQU says to turn off build plate detection (build plate guide).

Creality Vacuum Storage KitWe use it
Vacuum bags with desiccant for spools that are not in use. They keep dry spools dry; they do not dry a wet one (filament storage guide).

Veanic Mini Hygrometer, 2-packWe use it
Fits the round 46 mm slot in popular AMS dry-pod prints, so they measure humidity instead of guessing from bead color. At about ±5% RH it shows the trend, not a lab value.

Orange silica beads, 5.5 lbFor AMS owners
Orange indicating beads for the AMS. Dried at 80 to 90°C they turn orange again, according to Bambu 5 to 15 times; orange rather than blue, which gets its color from cobalt chloride (AMS desiccant guide).

SanDisk High Endurance microSDWe use it
For printers with a microSD slot (A1, A1 mini, P1 and X1 series): timelapses and print files. Format it in the printer, Bambu supports FAT32 only. The P2S, X2D and H series take a USB drive instead.

Filament they can use
Filament is the gift that gets used up, as long as it suits the printer. Bambu's material table rates PLA and PETG as compatible with its open and enclosed printers and with the AMS and AMS lite. Bambu's RFID tag is a convenience, not a lock: without it, the owner sets type and color for each AMS slot by hand (third-party filament guide).

Polymaker Panchroma Matte PLAWe use it
Matte finish on a cardboard spool. For cardboard spools in the AMS, Bambu advises an adapter ring.

SUNLU PETGWe use it
Inexpensive PETG for functional parts. Wet PETG strings badly, so it pairs well with the dryer above.

Polymaker ASAWe use it
UV- and weather-resistant ASA for outdoor parts, for the P1S, P2S, X1, X2D and H2 series only; Bambu rules out the A series, P1P and the AMS lite. In the AMS, its cardboard spool needs an adapter ring.

Overture TPU 95AWe use it
For bumpers, seals and grips. Not for the AMS: Bambu rules out the AMS, AMS lite and AMS 2 Pro for 95A TPU, so it runs from a dry box or the external spool holder (Overture TPU on Bambu).

Small gifts
Every packing list we checked on Bambu's wiki has the same small kit: two hex keys, an unclogging pin and a bare scraper blade. Our tools roundup adds flush cutters, a scraper with a plastic blade and fine tweezers for day one, a caliper for anyone who designs parts or chases AMS feed errors, and a deburring tool and thin CA glue for finishing. None of them depends on the printer model.

Flush cutters, 2-packWe use it
For filament, supports and brims. An inexpensive two-pack, not a name brand.

INTARSIO scraper kitWe use it
A plastic razor scraper with spare blades plus three steel scrapers, per the listing. On textured PEI, the plastic blade first, steel only when it is not enough.

iFixit Precision TweezersWe use it
Three ESD-safe tweezers: extra fine, angled and blunt. Bambu's maintenance guides ask for tweezers again and again.

Kynup Digital CaliperWe use it
0.01 mm resolution per Kynup, the resolution Bambu's elephant foot guide asks for. Also checks filament diameter when the AMS reports feed errors.

Starbond Thin CA Glue KitWe use it
Thin CA that wicks into seams. Bambu calls super glue ideal for PLA and recommends two-part epoxy for PETG and ABS.

Our take
Match the gift to the printer
A printer gift starts from the materials the person wants to print: PLA and PETG on the A1 mini or A1, ABS and ASA on the P1S or P2S, an actively heated chamber on the X2D. An add-on starts from the printer they already own. When in doubt, tools and PLA fit every Bambu.
Common questions
What is a good Bambu Lab printer to give a beginner?
The A1 mini ($199 in Bambu's US store) if small prints are enough, otherwise the A1 ($259) with the full 256 mm cube. Both are open printers for PLA and PETG. For multicolor, the Combo versions add an AMS lite with four slots: A1 mini Combo $299, A1 Combo $359.
What do you give someone who already has a Bambu Lab printer?
Something that fits the printer they own: an AMS for multicolor (the AMS lite only for the A1 mini, A1 and A2L), a filament dryer such as the SUNLU FilaDryer S2 unless they have an AMS 2 Pro or AMS HT, a spare textured PEI plate if their printer takes the 257 × 257 mm size, or PLA and PETG, which Bambu rates as compatible with its printers and the AMS. Flush cutters, a plastic-blade scraper and fine tweezers fit every model.
When does Bambu Lab's Black Friday sale end?
