Overview

BambuHub is a static website. We set no cookies and collect personal data only when you sign up for email updates or use the contact form. We run privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate usage (see below). This page describes what information may be processed when you visit, and why.

Note on the community forum

This policy covers the static site at bambuhub.net. The community forum at forum.bambuhub.net is a separate system where you can create an account and post. Its data processing (accounts, cookies, email) is described in the separate community forum privacy policy.

Short version

BambuHub sets no cookies. No advertising. No cross-site tracking by BambuHub. No personal data collected except what you send us via the newsletter or contact form and the connection data our host needs to deliver the pages. We use cookieless, self-hosted analytics that only records anonymous, aggregate usage statistics; for visits routed outside the EU, EEA, Switzerland and the UK, our host Cloudflare also measures page load performance without cookies. Buy buttons to the Bambu Lab store and links to Amazon are affiliate links: only if you click one does Sovrn (Bambu Lab store) or Amazon (Amazon links) process data (see below).

Data collected by BambuHub

Apart from the newsletter and contact forms and the connection data processed by our host (all described below), BambuHub collects no personal data. There are no:

  • Cookies set by this site
  • Advertising networks or tracking pixels
  • Google Analytics or other tracking-based analytics (the two cookieless tools we use are described under Analytics)
  • Cross-site or cross-device tracking
  • User accounts or login systems
  • Comment systems

Analytics

We use Umami, a self-hosted, cookieless web analytics tool running on our own infrastructure (analytics.makebyte.de). It helps us understand which pages are useful and how the site is used overall. Umami:

  • Sets no cookies and requires no consent banner
  • Stores no personal data and does not build user profiles
  • Does not track you across other websites or devices
  • Records only anonymous, aggregate usage statistics (such as page views, referrer, browser, operating system, screen size, language, device type and approximate location: country, region and city)

Besides page views, our pages send Umami three anonymous events: affiliate-click when you click a link to Amazon or to a Bambu Lab website, including the store and spec PDFs (which destination and product, and on which of our pages), engaged once per page view when the page has been visible for 30 seconds or scrolled to 75% (the page and which of the two happened), and newsletter-signup after a successful signup (only which signup form was used, never your email address).

Umami runs on a server we rent from IONOS SE (Germany). Apart from this hosting provider, the data is not shared with or sold to anyone. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding which pages and links are useful, so we can improve the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

In addition, our host Cloudflare (see Hosting below) measures page load performance with Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare adds a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com to our pages only for visits that reach Cloudflare through a data center outside the EU, the EEA, Switzerland and the UK; visits through data centers in those countries are not measured. The script sends performance data from your browser to Cloudflare, such as load and paint timings, Core Web Vitals, the page address and the referring page. According to Cloudflare, it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and Cloudflare discards your IP address at the nearest data center instead of storing it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a fast, reliable site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Details are in Cloudflare's documentation of the measurement script.

Newsletter and price alerts

The signup forms on this site and in the forum footer collect your email address and the page you signed up from. We first send a confirmation email (double opt-in); only after you confirm do you receive our newsletter and price alerts. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email. We keep your address until you unsubscribe. The emails are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France, EU). The signup form does not store your email address in your browser.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we process your email address and your message to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual requests, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The message reaches us via Brevo and is deleted once your request is resolved, unless legal retention duties apply. Messages to [email protected], including those from the contact form, are stored in our mailbox at mailbox.org (Heinlein Hosting GmbH, Schwedter Straße 8/9A, 10119 Berlin, Germany).

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit BambuHub, Cloudflare automatically processes standard connection data to deliver the pages and protect the site against attacks. This may include:

  • Your IP address
  • The page requested
  • Date and time of request
  • Browser type (user agent string)
  • HTTP response code

This data is processed for technical operation and security purposes. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in delivering the site reliably and securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is not used for profiling or marketing by us. Cloudflare retains it according to its own privacy policy; BambuHub has no access to individual log entries, only to aggregate traffic statistics in the Cloudflare dashboard. Transfers to the US are based on Cloudflare's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

The newsletter and contact forms are also sent through Cloudflare (Pages Functions). Our form handlers there do not store your data; they only pass it on to Brevo as described above.

Storage in your browser

The maintenance planner saves the tasks you tick and the date you ticked them in your browser's local storage (key bh-maint-v1), so the list is still there on your next visit. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can remove it with the planner's Reset buttons or by clearing your browser's site data. No other page of this site stores anything in your browser.

Third-party content

BambuHub pages do not embed third-party content (no YouTube embeds, no social media widgets). Fonts are self-hosted and served from this domain; no fonts are loaded from Google Fonts or other third-party servers, so your IP address is not passed to a font provider. External requests go only to our own self-hosted analytics server and, for visits routed outside the EU, EEA, Switzerland and the UK, to Cloudflare Web Analytics (both described under Analytics).

Buy buttons to the Bambu Lab store (Sovrn Commerce)

The buy buttons that lead to the Bambu Lab store are affiliate links run through Sovrn Commerce, a service of Sovrn, Inc., Boulder, Colorado, USA. When you click one, your browser briefly passes through Sovrn's redirect before it reaches bambulab.com. Nothing happens before you click: BambuHub loads no Sovrn script and sets no cookies for this.

During the redirect Sovrn processes your IP address and information about your browser and device (such as browser type and version, operating system and device type) and may set or read a cookie, so that a later purchase can be attributed to BambuHub and a commission paid (Sovrn lists “tracking of clicks and purchases for revenue attribution” as part of its Commerce service). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in funding the site through commissions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Sovrn is headquartered in the USA and states that it uses Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal data out of the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Details on Sovrn's processing are in Sovrn's privacy policy. You can switch off Sovrn's affiliate tracking with “Disable Tracking” in Sovrn's Privacy Center, which stores an opt-out cookie in your browser, or open the Bambu Lab store directly instead of using our buttons.

Amazon links (Amazon Associates)

Links to Amazon (amazon.com and amzn.to) carry our Amazon Associates partner tag; as an Amazon Associate, BambuHub earns from qualifying purchases. Nothing is loaded from Amazon before you click: our pages contain no Amazon scripts, images or widgets. When you click such a link, you go to Amazon, and Amazon may collect information directly from you and place or recognize cookies in your browser. The partner tag tells Amazon that you came from BambuHub, so that qualifying purchases can be credited to us. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in funding the site through commissions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Amazon's own processing is described in the Amazon.com Privacy Notice on amazon.com.

External links

This site contains links to external websites (Reddit, Printables, YouTube, etc.). When you click these links, you leave BambuHub and are subject to the privacy policies of those external sites. BambuHub has no control over and takes no responsibility for their data practices.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict its processing and to receive it in a portable format (Art. 15 to 20 GDPR). Where we process data based on our legitimate interest (contact form, hosting, analytics with Umami and Cloudflare Web Analytics, affiliate links), you can object to that processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time with effect for the future, via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us (Art. 7(3) GDPR). To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@bambuhub.net (full contact details in the Impressum).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority for us is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Ansbach.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy if the site's technical setup changes (for example, if we add hosting infrastructure that processes data differently). The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
