X2D vs H2C
Mid-range tech vs Vortek multi-material, $1,550 apart (H2C as AMS Combo)
Which one should I buy?
The X2D is the most capable 256 mm printer; the H2C the most capable multi-material one. Pay 3.4x the price (the H2C's AMS included) only if seven materials per job, with minimal purge waste, is your actual requirement.

The H2C is sold only as an AMS Combo, so its $2,199 includes an AMS. Like-for-like, it costs $1,300 more than the X2D AMS Combo at $899; against the standalone X2D, the $1,550 gap includes the AMS.

- Bambu does not label the axes of these outer dimensions (X2D 392 × 406 × 478 mm, H2C 492 × 514 × 626 mm); read as width × depth × height. Schematic outline; only the outer dimensions are Bambu's figures.

Capability vs specialization
The X2D generalizes well: active chamber, auxiliary nozzle, up to 25 colors via AMS 2 Pro / AMS HT, newest platform. Its multi-material story still runs through one primary melt zone. The H2C specializes: six swappable hotends plus one fixed mean every material keeps its own, enabling rigid+flex+support combinations that single-nozzle systems handle poorly.
Studios mixing materials daily know which one they need. Everyone else is an X2D buyer.

The H2D question
Between them, the H2D ($1,549) with two nozzles handles most dual-material needs; the H2C is for beyond-two.

What changed
Newest first, from this page's version history. Only changes to text you can read here; date refreshes and reshuffled reading links are left out.
- AMS Combo comparison now against the X2D AMS Combo at $899, a $1,300 gap (was the H2D AMS Combo at $1,749, $450); the H2C's build volume is marked as the right nozzle's.
- AMS support corrected to AMS 2 Pro / AMS HT with up to 25 colors on both (X2D was "AMS 2.0"); the H2C's purge is now described as minimal (was near-zero).
- Corrected: X2D HEPA filter listed again (removed by mistake on Jul 31), G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA and carbon on both printers; added that the H2C is sold only as an AMS Combo, so its $2,199 includes an AMS.
Earlier changes
- Price gap to the X2D back at $1,550, or 3.4x the price (was $1,450 and 3.2x), matching the H2C's $2,199.
- Spec table: X2D max speed 1000 mm/s (was 500 mm/s), the same as the H2C.
- H2C price back at $2,199 after the $2,099 cut.
- H2C price now $2,099 with a $2,199 list price (was $2,199, list $2,399); the gap to the X2D is $1,450 (was $1,550).
- X2D filter spec changed to activated carbon, no HEPA (was listed as HEPA plus carbon).
