H2D vs H2C

Two switching nozzles vs six swappable hotends

Which one should I buy?

Both solve multi-material printing, differently: the H2D ($1,549, typical price $1,749) with two switching nozzles for the common case (two materials, soluble supports); the H2C ($2,199) with Vortek for the complex case (up to seven). Most buyers need two, not seven.

Strengths: H2D vs H2C

H2D

  • Two-material/soluble-support workflows
  • $650 less than the H2C at current US store prices
  • Bigger X-width (350 vs 330 mm in dual-combined mode)

H2C

  • Three or more materials per job
  • Dedicated hotends per material (no cross-contamination)
  • Production multi-material cell

The H2C is sold only as an AMS Combo, so its $2,199 includes an AMS. Like-for-like, the Vortek premium over the H2D AMS Combo ($1,749) is $450; against a printer without AMS, the price gap includes the AMS.

Two done perfectly or seven done automatically

The H2D's dual-nozzle switching covers the workflows that drive most multi-material demand: soluble supports, two-material parts, backup spools. The H2C adds the Vortek bay to the same left/right layout: six swappable hotends plus one fixed, only a small prime per change across up to seven materials, at the cost of some X-volume and $450 more than the H2D AMS Combo ($650 over the standalone H2D, a gap that includes the H2C's AMS).

Ask what your jobs look like. Two materials per part: H2D, and keep the change. Regularly three or more, or frequent material switches mid-job: that is literally what the H2C was built for.

H2D below its typical price, H2C at a single price

The H2D holds at $1,549 (typical price $1,749). The H2C sells at $2,199; its reference price moved from $2,399 to $2,199 on September 16, 2026, and the Fall Sale price of $2,099 expired on September 22. Watch both on the price tracker.

What changed

Newest first, from this page's version history. Only changes to text you can read here; date refreshes and reshuffled reading links are left out.

  1. Spec table: the H2D has no Lidar (was yes), and its strengths now name the $650 lower price instead of Lidar and the 40W laser; Vortek changes need a small prime each (was no purge towers).
  2. Nozzle system corrected: the H2D has two switching hotends (was independent dual extrusion), and the H2C adds Vortek to the same left/right layout.
  3. Added that the H2C is sold only as an AMS Combo, so like-for-like it costs $450 more than the H2D AMS Combo ($1,749); filtration now listed as G3 pre-filter, H12 HEPA and carbon.

Earlier changes

  1. Spec table: H2D build volume corrected to 325 × 320 × 325 mm (was 350 × 320 × 325 mm).
  2. H2C back at $2,199 after the $2,099 Fall Sale price expired Sep 22; the gap to the H2D is $650 again.
  3. H2C at $2,099 in Bambu's Fall Sale (Sep 16 to 22), with its list price moved from $2,399 to $2,199; the gap to the H2D ($1,549) is $550 during the sale ($650 at regular prices).
  4. H2D X-width advantage now given as 350 vs 330 mm in dual-combined mode (was 350 vs 305 mm).
