Which one should I buy?

Quick answer: Get the P2S ($549) if your materials stop at ABS or ASA, which covers most users. Get the H2S ($1,199 street, typical price $1,249) only if you need its 350°C nozzle (PPS and fiber-filled PPS are on the H2S filament list, not the P2S's), an actively heated 65°C chamber, or the larger build volume.

P2S

  • $650 cheaper at current street prices, massive savings for comparable everyday printing
  • More compact, fits on a standard desk
  • Simpler maintenance and filament workflow

H2S

  • 350°C nozzle; Bambu lists PPS and fiber-filled PPS, which the P2S list lacks
  • Active 65°C chamber heating for warp-prone engineering materials
  • 1,000 mm/s max speed vs the P2S's 600mm/s
  • 340 × 320 × 340 mm build volume, larger footprint
  • Professional-grade build for production environments

Two different tools for two different jobs

The P2S handles everything most users will ever need: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, and even PA. The H2S adds active chamber heating and 350°C nozzle capability for materials that truly demand it, such as PPS and fiber-filled PPS, which Bambu does not list for the P2S.

The 1,000 mm/s speed on the H2S sounds impressive, but real-world print times aren't 1.7x faster than on the P2S (1,000 mm/s vs 600 mm/s), most of the speed advantage is seen in infill and travel moves. For detailed prints, both machines operate at similar effective speeds.

Get the P2S if...

  • Your material list stops at ABS or ASA
  • You want to save $650 on a machine that handles 90% of use cases
  • You have a standard desk or limited space
  • You're a hobbyist or maker, not a production engineer

Get the H2S if...

  • You need PPS or fiber-filled PPS (not on the P2S list)
  • You need active chamber heating, passive just won't cut it
  • You need more build volume for larger parts
  • You're printing for functional engineering or professional use

Fewer than you might think. Bambu's P2S filament list already includes PC, PA and the fiber-filled PA6-CF/GF, PAHT-CF and PPA-CF. What the H2S adds is PPS and fiber-filled PPS, a 350°C nozzle and an actively heated 65°C chamber, which Bambu pitches for warp-prone materials such as ABS and PC. If you're asking "do I need the H2S," you probably know exactly which material is forcing your hand. If you're not sure, you don't need it yet.
